Abstract painting of organic black form and geometric circle

Deux Systèmes

2024 · Acrylic on canvas · 140 x 80 cm · Private collection

This painting presents two forms that do not oppose each other, yet cannot fully meet. They occupy the same space, but operate under different principles, each following its own internal logic without attempting to translate the other.

On one side, a dark structure unfolds. It is fluid, almost organic, yet contained within its own system. It bends, loops, and returns to itself, guided by movement rather than definition. It does not seek symmetry or resolution. It persists through repetition, through an internal necessity that does not require explanation.

On the other side, a circle appears — measured, precise, constructed. It suggests order, orientation, and clarity. Its lines are intentional, its presence stable. It does not move. It defines.

Between them, there is no conflict. Only distance. A space where neither system attempts to absorb or correct the other. They coexist without merging, without negotiation, without resolution.

Les Deux Systèmes is not about choosing between chaos and order. It is about recognizing that some structures cannot be reconciled, because they were never meant to speak the same language.
