2024, Acrylic on canvas, 80x120cm

This painting works with the motif of the mask as a conscious choice. Not as a form of hiding, but as a way of functioning within a space that demands control, restraint, and distance. The face is fragmented into sharp geometric planes that do not seek to merge into a unified expression. They simply hold their form.
Black, white, and navy blue establish a cold, stable balance. They are controlled, practical, and protective. The sharp yellow appears only minimally, almost disruptively. Like a signal. Like something that cannot be fully suppressed, but must remain contained.
The mask is not looking outward. Nor inward. It is present. It serves. It protects. This painting is not about identity, but about the role one chooses in order to continue existing in the world.
